The 49ers have hired Fox analyst and Hall Of Fame candidate John Lynch as general manager. The deal is worth six years, terms of contract not finalized according to Adam Schefter.

John Lynch was an All Pro safety for the Buccaneers and finished his career with the Denver Broncos.

Lynch beat out Minnesota assistant general manager George Paton and Arizona vice president of player personnel Terry McDonough in Atlanta who were believed to be the leading candidates for the job.
